Poem: For My Husband David of 25 Years!

A Poem for My Husband David of 25 Years!

Dedicated to David D. Williams, Sr

On May 31, 2010 my husband and I celebrated our 25 year Anniversary! We couldn't do anything special, except be together. We set up a facebook celebration event, where our facebook friends could come into it and say their congrats and what not, and we spent the day together playing in our front yard flower garden.
And I wanted to do something special because twenty five years is big deal and not many couples make it this far now of days, and it IS something to be proud of.

So I want to write to the love of my life:

David Dwayne Williams, Sr.

I love you like no other,

You are my World, My friend,

My husband, my lover,

My everything.

I cannot live without you,

Even though at times ---

I have said differently!

Although, not in my rhymes.

I love all of our children,

Even when they get on our nerves,

Pit us against one another, and lie.

You will always be my everything,

You work hard to support us;

Do the best that you can--

Without much of a fuss.

You say you loved me in Junior High,

Although you never said a word!

You never ever looked me in the eye-

Not that even could!!!! LOL

We laugh, we joke around,

You snore, we argue, we talk--

We drive all over the town....

And sometimes we go for long walks!

You've stood by my side,

When others have walked away,

You've listened to my thoughts and tears;

And held me as I begged you to stay.

People have tried to pull us apart,

Told us both lies, we never believed...

We deal with jealousy constantly--

And all we are is relieved!

Our children look up to our relationship,

They hope to have one like it someday;

I too hope they should be so lucky---

Forever and a day!

David I will love you forever and ever,

Even when I am in my grave--

I have found my own true love,

And that is how its gonna stay!!!

No one can ever have my man,

I will never let him go!!

Because even if I die before him--

I will STILL keep him, just so you know! LOL

I love you David!
