I've lived and I've learned . . .
I've blamed, and I've heard;
If its trouble, it starts with a word.
They say that the words can't hurt you,
That they can't cut like a knife . . .
But they can I assure you;
With each and every strife.
We've all done it-said things we didn't mean,
Didn't think before we spoke . . .
Said things that were unclean--
And told our share of jokes!
So the next time you have something to say,
Think of the power behind your word. . . .
You have the power to make it through the day;
Not just the power to be heard.
