Yes,
if you know me, then you know I am overweight. There is no denying it.
And also, if you know me, you know that I hate labeling people. Being
fat, that has its share of labels. And I would like to touch on those
labels now.
Just because a person is fat, doesn't mean they are unclean, stink and bathe less often then you do.
Just because a person is fat, it doesn't mean they are lazy. They could have a thyroid condition, a mental condition, or many other ailments, that you yourself are unaware of. So when you are busy slamming on people that are fat, think about you're own ailments, and how you wouldn't like them used on you to make fun of you.
Just because a person is fat, doesn't mean all they ever do is sit around and eat. And because you see them eating at meal time, doesn't mean they are going to eat and eat and eat, until there is nothing left to eat.
Just because a person is fat doesn't mean that every place they sit, is going to form of their butt. It also doesn't mean that they are going to break every seat they sit on. Furniture is not built like it used to be built, so trust me when I say this- furniture can even break on thin people!
Just because a fat person is without a job, doesn't mean they don't want to be jobless.
Never assume a fat person cannot walk around the mall, or walk that extra mile. Any heavy person, who has gradually gotten heavy, can easily maneuver their body around to do anything they want it to do. They are used to their body, they know what it can and cannot do. There are even fat people that can do gymnastics, and other exercises.
Never assume that the fat person in the wheel chair, is sitting in that wheel chair to be lazy, because they cant lift their fat, and walk. They could easily have hip displacia, and any other ailment, including a simple sprained ankle.
Fat people have feelings just like any other person, and even if they pretend to not care that you are making fun of them- deep down- it still hurts.
Just because a person is fat, it is not a life style change they probably want, or even like for that matter. But chances are high, that the fat person you know-has wanted to loose the weight, and even tried to loose it.
My Mother always told me to never make fun of fat people, because if I did, it could happen to me. Now look at me. I'm fat. I hate admitting she was right, because it was one of the few times she was- but it was still one that back fired on me, and I can't prove otherwise that it wasn't because she warned me! After all, they do say:
"What goes around comes around!"
