A Poem for My New Friend: Tina Mann

A Poem for My New Found Friend:
                 Tina Mann

Written by: Deneale K. McElhaney Williams

I'm glad I met you,
I'm glad our paths crossed.

I remember never knowing you.
Then I even remember hating you.

Now I think of you often
And when I do....

A big smile comes across my face every time.

I wanted you to know.
I wanted you to remember,
You are a great friend
That I'll never return to sender!

It's hard to believe I ever hated you,
It's hard to believe we just met!
But you make me smile through and through;
And to everyone else- I'll just bet!!!

So I wanted to write a little poem for you,
And let others know you're truly great;
Because now I'm glad to have met you:
And I want others to know you're great!

Thank you for being my new found friend:

Tina Mann!

Poem: the Auto Mechanic!

The Auto Mechanic

Dedicated to real mechanics, and of course the common every day back yard ones too!

Making a living,
At something Ford Began...
Taking what it's giving;
Is it really for this man?
~
Underneath another hood,
Oil, grease, and grime...
It sure doesn't look good;
Or does it anytime?
~
Once in a while it's a carburetor,
And other times it's more...
I swear cares are agitators!!
And it sure seems like war!
~
Sometimes I wish I knew,
What horse and buggy were like...
I'm sure you've wondered too;
Or do you ride a bike?!?

Poem: A Mothers Thank You!

A Mother's Thank You!

Dedicated to Sandra June McElhaney

(This poem was read at her funeral by Reverend Jack Knechtly)

Thank you for being our Mom,

No Matter what went wrong.

Through thick and thin,

Your love made us win.

Through sickness and sorrow,

You gave us tomorrow.

We wouldn't be what we are,

Without you as our star.

You made us behave,

With the true love you gave.

I only hope that I can be,

As good a Mother, as you were to me.

Rest in Peace Mom, I miss you every day.

Sandra June McElhaney
