A True Experience About Being Abused: Where Did I Go Wrong?

A True Experience About Being Abused: Where Did I go Wrong?

In Mid 1973, my mother became pregnant again. It would be her fourth child. She was afraid to tell my Father, because this pregnancy was unplanned.

But eventually she did. And when she did, I interrupted them, and told Mom, that I specifically wanted a Sister. She had already had me, than two other brothers after. It was unfair. She agreed, and said she would do what she could. I told her, she was NOT to bring home more brothers.

On the evening of April 3rd, Mom went into labor. I don't exactly remember how she went to the Hospital, if Dad took her, the ambulance or what. All I do remember is sitting on the couch, with my Father, watching the massive amounts of lightening strike yonder. The boys were in bed, and it was storming badly.

Dad and I talked, like adults that night. But I was only nine. I asked him if he thought Mommy was going to be having a little girl, and he told me that he hoped that I would get what I want, but mostly, he wanted it healthy. We watched the lightening, and sat waiting to find out what Mom had had. I don't know when she called, or when she came home. I do know, that we found out later, that a tornado had touched down in Xenia, Ohio on April 3rd and 4th.

Mom brought me home exactly what I wanted, a little Sister. I was so glad. And then I asked what she named her, and she told me: Amy Lynn. I asked if those names meant anything, and she said- Amy was from Dads grandmother Amy, and Lynn was part of Moms favorite, and only sister- Linda. She said it sounded better as Lynn, so she made it that way. It really didn't matter me, I got what I wanted- a sister. Now I had my own living and breathing baby doll!

Before Amy went into Kindergarten, I had taught her to cursive her name, not just spell it in print. I liked to work with Amy, teach her, and help her to be a better person. Her Kindergarten teacher complained often, about how advanced Amy was, and Mom always had to explain that Amy had a Sister nine years older than her, and Amy learned all of the stuff she knew, from her.

I made Mom let Amy's hair grow, I wanted to fix it. I would put it up in rollers, brushed it, styled it and played with it. I loved making her look like Mickey Mouse!

We often put on plays for our parents, especially for Christmas. We did this on our own, no scripts, and our parents would actually sit and watch them. When Amy was young, we made her baby Jesus. The older she got, the more we all performed. We would dance to music of my record player-particularly Xanadu, and it was so much fun! Amy often performed on her own, too. She loved the attention, we have many photos of her wearing different clothes, especially my angel winged blouse, dancing and singing for Mom and Dad.

We would also go to parks in the Summer time, and walk paths, and do things, once we were allowed beyond the yard, and side walk. We would play at School play grounds, and in the creek bed, that went all over the city. We would follow it, and swim, and sometimes pack lunches, and make a day of it. We did a lot. We would even make Daddy's lunch and take it to him at work. We kept active.
But still, we managed to always get in trouble somehow, some way. Sometimes I never even understood half of the things we were getting yelled at for, or beat for. Because I was the oldest, I was supposed to be responsible, and for the most part I was.

But there was a time, when Amy wasn't quite three, that she ran away. Everyone was out looking for her. I got into so much trouble for her disappearance, I should have kept a better eye on her, and it was my entire fault. Eventually, Amy had heard us calling out her name, and so had the woman, to who's house she went. Amy stood on her porch; the woman would not let Amy leave, and yelled back at us. We went to her, excited we had found her. The woman told Mom, Amy was out wandering alone by herself, talking to everyone, being as friendly as possible. She claimed to of ask Amy where her family or parents were, and Amy told them she had permission to be out, she was visiting people. Amy never denied anything. I do think Amy, wasn't really sure what was going on, and didn't quite know that she had done anything wrong. She did know, though, that she upset us. Because we all were in trouble for her disappearance, we kept a better eye on Amy, now knowing that she thought she could and should run off anywhere she wanted. We weren't allowed outside for days, because of that, and we were lectured about it often.

When I turned eighteen, I ran away, fed up with being abused. When I called home, I wasn't allowed to talk to any of my siblings, instead- they were being lied to, and turned against me. I was told everyone hated me, even my own parents. Yet, they wanted me to return, where I would be safe. Eventually I did return, because my life had gone sour, and I knew I wasn't safe. I was told to get a job, so that is what I did. My siblings, didn't want anything to do with me, they owned all of my possessions, my bike, my toys- I was not allowed to have them back either. They made fun of me, and called me the run away, all the time. It became unbearable, and I would walk to work crying, each and every day, being hated was the worst thing I had ever felt. And being called the run away, was not the worst name, I endured being called through my childhood. But, I missed having a relationship with my siblings, although, it was obvious, they preferred hating me over anything else, no matter what I did, to try to prove I was good.

I was still in School, when I ran away, and my Mother, called the School, and told them that I was no longer at home. She told them to kick me out, and they did. So I tried to enroll in other schools, not only did they kick me out, but they expelled me. So I moved out of state, and tried to get an education that way, and was not allowed to. My mother, took away my Senior year from me. Now I was not allowed to have an education, and diploma, like most people. Now I was even more of a failure. The things I loved in life, like Band, and Garfield-were being taken from me, all one by one-to teach me a lesson. But this was far from the worst thing to happen to me.

Because I had been raped while I was a run away, this made me a slut, I had asked for it, and this too-made me a worthless individual. It was thrown in my face constantly. But like I said, I knew I had made a mistake, I knew it. This was how I did in fact, ended up raped. I had stayed with a friend, and that friend had a boy friend. And she had to go to work, and I was still home-with him. I didn't physically ask for it, but because I was there, I had run away, and because I was no good, I did feel as though, I made it happen. When it did, I did call home, crying, and it was the first thing they had told me, "You got what you deserved!" And I was not allowed to talk about it, yet they told my siblings. And they would ask me about it, when they decided to be nice to me, and once I would answer, then they would laugh, and make fun of me some more- the runaway.

During the time of me having a job, one Christmas my parents told us all, there would be far and few presents under the tree, because they couldn't afford to pay Santa this year. I felt bad for the kids. I went to Mom, about it. She said she didn't want my money, if I wanted to buy them something, it was fine, but she didn't want Santa or her to look bad, so I had to wrap the stuff, and write on it-From Santa. And I did. I used my brand new J.C. Penney card, and bought them clothes, and what few toys I could find at Penney's. I also used cash, and bought toys from Wool Worth's, and places like that. The kids had a great Christmas that year, and no one knew I helped, let alone cared. The presents for me, were far and few between, and I was told, it was because I was a run away.

That spring, I had found an old friend from Junior High, and we decided we wanted to go out. I was at the time, dating another guy, a bad guy and I knew it. But I liked this one, I had known him forever, so we went out, and I told him, how I was being treated at home, how I hated it. How I needed to find someone, and get out of there. I told him everything, including how I was beat on. He told me, he had had his eye on me, all through School, and that he knew- I was the one for him! He asked me to marry him, that night. I said yes, but knew we couldn't. After a few dates, I decided to bring him home to meet my family. Everyone hated him, and my sister, sat on ALL of my previous boy friends laps, except for David. She said he was ugly, and she didn't want him. I didn't care; he made me feel safe, and loved.

Eventually, we had sex, and became pregnant. David said it would be the only way, anyone would allow us to get married. My mother, took me to her doctor, told him I was a slut, and that I had sex with anyone and everyone. It was, a lie. But he of course, believed her, or at least-pretended to. When we went home, my mother sat me down, at the kitchen table and told me, my father would be disappointed in me, and would no longer want me to be a part of his family. I cried, and she cried. She pushed the kitchen table into my gut, and held it there, and told me she wanted me to miscarry, she didn't want a grand child, or me. She told me I was the worst thing that ever happened to her and Daddy. She also told me, and I quote: "I hope that when you finally do have children, I hope to God, that they are five times worse than you. This way you know, exactly how you made me and your Father feel!"

She made me tell Daddy, and he sat looking at me with a blank look on his face. I knew I had hurt him. Eventually he asked what David and I intended to do. I didn't answer. That evening, David came over, and asked my Daddy for my hand in marriage. Daddy said, we had no choice. We made our bed; we had to lie in it. He told us we needed to get out acts together, because we were not raising our child in his house.

So we went to David's family, and they tried to talk us out of marriage, and only wanted us to live together, in sin. We didn't want that, we firmly believed in marriage. And we actually, believed in marriage before sex, what we did, we knew we did wrong, but we did it, like I said, on purpose. David was trying to rescue me from the hell in which I lived.

Eventually, David's parents agreed, we were doing what we wanted, and they would help us, and take us in, and help us to get started.

The moral to this, is that-when I ran away, I lost the only thing in the World I ever wanted and loved- my siblings. My parents turned them against me, and made them hate me, and nothing was ever the same. Even to this day, my siblings hate me, because of my past. They cannot move on, they cannot and will not forgive, every time I do something wrong, this is brought up to my face, and thrown up all over again. How I hurt them, and wronged them. I am never allowed to speak up, and tell the truth. This is me, telling it now.

I never meant to hurt anyone. I loved my parents, even though they were abusive, and over killed on the punishments. And I especially loved my sister, she was my favorite. I wanted her, and I always felt, that I wanted her, even more than my own parents did. And that- to me was fine.

I think that my mother must have known, just how much my siblings and I loved one another. Maybe, and I can almost guarantee it, my siblings cried when I ran away. My sister, has told me, SHE and she alone, took over for my abuse, that they beat on her more frequently for and because of me. She told me, she didn't have to do anything wrong, that they would just beat her, and call her Deneale. I don't know if it is or was true. I know, she thinks-even to this day, that I did it to HER. And it is not a fact. At eighteen, you are supposed to be allowed to leave home, and make a life of your own. Apparently my family didn't think so, because they did make police reports against me.

So since I am not listened to, and no one seems to care what I have to say, I decided to write it down like this, at least before I die- this way-it is known that I did none of this, out of hatred, and to make other peoples lives a living hell.

To this day, I am proudly married to the same man, David and we have five children. We are in love, and have a wonderful and faithful marriage of over 22 years now. I have since returned to School, and even furthered my education. My children, just like me-are drug free. They are good and descent children, and I am proud of them.

Although, I was a failure as a teen. I am not a failure as an adult, even though my siblings think I am. I did what I had to, to survive and succeed. My only regrets are that you-my siblings were lied to. And for that I apologize.

Poem: Good Bye My Friend........

Good Bye My Friend..........

Dedicated To: Lori Marie Finney-Phelps

I had a best friend,
I always thought she cared.
She always makes our friendship end-
And acts like she is scared.
We have been friends since we were little,
I don't know why she does it,
But she puts people in the middle.
She tells lies to get herself a new friend,
And tosses the old friend to the curb-
This isn't her first time making our friendship end,
She doesn't care, just so long as she's heard!
I always used to let her come back,
I don't know why I do it;
This time there is no going back!
I have been hurt for the last damn time,
I won't let her near me again-
That's why I'm writing this rhyme;
So she can know she will never win!
I no longer have a friend like her,
I no longer care what she does with her life;
I don't care if she even grows more fur!
This marks the end of my friendship with you my dear,
So don't look my way, don't call me-nothing!
I don't care what you have to say, I don't care what I hear,
You made this choice; you can't blame anyone, or anything!
Today I grew up and woke up all at the same time,
I don't care how bad you screw up anymore-
Do your own thing, whatever it is, even if it's crime!
My heart was broken the other day,
Now I have decided to move on without you;
This is the way you wanted to play!
This is how much our friendship meant to you!
Good bye my friend............

Book Review: Mommy's Choice, by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Book Review: Mommy's Choice, by Scott Curtis

A Christian Suspense Novel  http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/83/c8/3f/83c83f99cec5431a5e280122ab6aabb3.jpg

When I received a copy of "Mommy's Choice" written by first time author Scott Curtis, I truly wasn't in the mood to read. But curiosity got the best of me, and I picked it up and read the back, and decided I needed to find out more. So I started reading. The next thing you know, it was nightfall and I couldn't put it down. I didn't want to go to sleep; I wanted to find out exactly what it was I was missing. So I read it, until I finished it that night.

 Scott McElhaney (edit name/settings)
Scott Curtis really opens your eyes, and makes you think. Not many people can actually do that for you anymore with their writings. It has a very unique and unpredictable ending, to which one cannot really and truly write about, because it will ruin it for you, the interested party. You honestly need to grab yourself a copy, so you too- can be drawn in; unable to put it down, and open up your mind and heart!

The book helps you look and relate with the relationship between a Mother and Son, and as the title states, "Mommy's choice." The characters are really people you and I can relate to! It also can help you understand Christianity, and the need to have a relationship with our Lord.

This book is something everyone should read, especially teens. It will help you, to think before you make your choice. Perhaps this story just might touch the right person, or even persons, and help them through a tough decision that could change their life forever; it is in fact-an eye opening book, which you will not be able to put down! However, as with most anything, this book could possibly cause controversy within a crowd. The book is also written in the Christian format, and helps you relate to Christianity, and understand becoming and the need to be a Christian as well. It is truly a wonderful Christian Suspense Novel.

This book enlightens you on Childbirth, and Abortion, and choices. Truly, it is eye opening. And I truly mean, eye opening. Something you may never think about. And perhaps you should. Those who are Pro~Choice and Pro~Life, will definitely agree, this book needs given to the youngsters of today, to make them think even before they make mistakes. Just a thought, and a good one I might add.

"Mommy's Choice" can be found at the following locations: www.Amazon.com, www.Target.com, www.BarnesandNoble.com, and Borders.com On a more personal note, I have found Amazon.com is always very descent with their pricing on just about anything! This is a small paperback- and this small paperback, had a huge impact on me! I give this book a ten on a scale of one through ten! Thank you, Scott Curtis-for a wonderful story, to open our minds, hearts and eyes, all in one read! God has truly blessed this writer with talent!

Book Review: Life Could be a Dream by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Review: Life Could Be a Dream by Scott Curtis McElhaney  http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3106/2631871269_7aa4f60f76_z.jpg?zz=1

Scott McElhaney (edit name/settings)
I was lucky enough to acquire the book: "Life Could be a Dream" by second time- Author Scott Curtis. As you may well have noticed, I reviewed his first book, "Mommy's Choice." as well.
 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPUJAQyHr9T24ievv6HcYyAR-iBVz2J57IDYskrsrXi0ZJhU7tcvV4H63EOdFAzvFbkoiQKRwLoCk3Ch-E0DJ47Fq2APbvtVIeF-A8Regnh_0YyOkHX1vPb-ls-V4AXBj8WIagt_1dQOw/s1600/Light-red-rose.jpg
http://www.terragalleria.com/images/black-white/us-sw/usaz8853-bw.jpeg
I can honestly say, that Scott Curtis has made his way into my personal category of favorite writers. And that is not an easy title to get. I originally had three favorite Authors, and they were: Stephen King, John Grisham and Iris Johansen.

Several months back, I removed King- for several reasons not worthy of discussion here. But now, in order of preference are as follows: Iris Johansen, Scott Curtis, and John Grisham.

But enough about me, let me tell you about this wonderful book!

This book is not what I expected, especially after reading his first book; I expected it to take a different route all together. Since we were dealing with domestic violence in the book, I thought it would truly be a nightmare, which is a type of dream, or something to do with his past. Because, if you read the back of the book, it deals with the fifties.

Once again, as with "Mommy Dearest" I started the book in the afternoon, and couldn't go to bed until it was done. I wanted to- trust me, and the last five or so pages, I was like so tired, but there was no way I could leave myself with unanswered questions. I had to know more!

Sean is them main character, he is the one with the abusive father. His Mother, Melissa is in abusive relationship, and often worries about her son, because she has already lost her daughter. Well, that in itself, I feel I have said too much, because things turn out so differently at the end, you will have drop jaw. I will tell you, as with many of Scott's books, he time travels in them. As does he in this one. Sean hides out fifty years in the past, in 1958. He meets a beautiful girl, her name is Clara. The book opens your heart, and makes you dream, and think. Most of all, imagine.

If you read "Mommy's choice" you may want to know, if this book, is that detailed in the aspect of the Christianity, and Bible quotations. It does speak and refer to the Bible and Christianity, yes. But no, it is nothing like his first book. It just guides you to look at your life, do things for the greater good, behave yourself and make yourself a better person. Yes, there are biblical quotes, but these ones are more understanding and make a quicker and better impact on you and your life choices. Yes "Mommy's Choice" does the same, but the two are very different, trust me.

I did however email Mr. Curtis, because he is one of those Authors who does want to know what you think. He told me, that he truly enjoyed writing this book. And if you read it, trust me, you will see why. Read it, absorb it, and then use your imagination.

This book is a truly must read. It deals with Science Fiction, romance, life and Christianity. Who knew you could mix them all up like that, but it certainly worked, and I was truly impressed, and now my teens are reading it. I can hardly wait for Mr. Curtis to put out another book, I love being pulled into his thoughts, "dreams" and words. They make me "see" and relate and keep me wanting more.
On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, I give this book a perfect ten, two thumbs up and a standing ovation!

To you who are reading this, go buy this book! You can get it at Amazon, order online and have it in a few days! You will be glad you did! And that is being said by an avid, every day reader!

Poem: Hold on Please!

Hold on Please!

Deneale K. Williams

I don't want you to leave,
I don't want to let you go....
Yet it's you I deceive;
I never let you know.
~
Soon your life may end,
And all I do is cry....
Hoping you will mend;
Then you won't have to die.
~
I know you are in pain,
I know it isn't fair...
Someday you may gain;
And beat this nightmare!
~
Fighting may someday pay,
So always have the will....
Win over this disease today;
"Cause I know you've had your fill!

Book Review: Nine Seconds by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Book Review: Nine Seconds by Scott Curtis McElhaney

This was not previously posted on associated content or yahoo groups, this is originally posted on 7/8/2014 posted right here, right now!

Bored, at the Doctors office, I decided to open the Kindle app on my phone. I scrolled through my iCloud devise, and downloaded a book by: Scott Curtis McElhaney called "Nine Seconds."

Now mind you, this was a short story, but it was a very deep and eye opening one. And once we managed to get to the part where time froze, and The Lord divulged about a plane; and freezing time, it was than in the back of my head, it made me think about the twin towers. It wasn't until the end of the book, the I was enlightened to that, and the memories of nine eleven just started flooding in.

But that was only one aspect. The other was how I could see what it would be like to be given the opportunity to fix where someone else failed. How much of a complete honor that would be, especially for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To me, that would be an honor, and I couldn't do for Him fast enough. But than again, my thoughts would be, would anything I do; ever be good enough? So many thoughts. And than even more: He could hear my thoughts! And than that part was even proved to be true, as he answered a thought as Spencer thought it. My mouth dropped.

I felt like I read this book in nine seconds, myself. I'm not kidding, and yes, I am a quick reader, I won't lie. But I just couldn't put the book down.

And than, to be .... Ah yes, always with Scott- time traveled back, and than told to paint a home, and not to question it. There must be a reason. Like Spencer, at first I was curious, but knew I would too would be compliant. And than to find the woman was the Aunt to the silver screen woman he was sent to help.

Francesca Bride, a silver screen movie star, whose autobiography Spencer Rice had read; and dearly loved. Someone he blamed Jesus for not helping. Something Spencer didn't understand. He ached, he felt that he could've helped, he prayed, he wanted answers.

And than: nine seconds before the plane hits the twin towers, Jesus Christ appears to Spencer, as he is confronting a woman he has longed to date, but had never been brave enough to do so. Now Christ comes to Spencer, and answers his prayers, and explains how He feels that out of anyone, even other Angels; Spencer is the one person who can fix one failed attempt even Christ made.

Will he do it? Should he do it? What is right? What is right and what is wrong? Nine seconds and his life will be over, or he can be "transplanted" somewhere in the 1900 what's?! What should he do? Can he fix Francesca?

You truly need to read this book. It is utterly amazing. Nine seconds, is a real eye opener, it will make you think your life over, and about things you "Wish you would've" and the "What if" factors.

Give this book a try. I give it five of five stars! It's utterly amazing!

Thank you Scott McElhaney for opening our minds and our eyes!

Book Review: Running Outta Time by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Review: Running Outta Time by Scott Curtis

Author Of: "Life Could Be a Dream" and "Mommy's Choice"

The book: "Running Outta Time" is as the cover states- three complete novels. The novelist who wrote it: Scott Curtis. This being his third published novel, the others include: "Mommy's Choice" and "Life Could Be a Dream!"

The first story: "One Crazy Summer" is about teens that work at a department store, and through the death of a fellow employee, learn about the possibility of money hidden within the store.

The story line, makes you want to keep reading, just to find out- to see what happens next. Your curiosity will get the best of you, and you will keep reading.

The best part, is that there are twists and turns, and things you really didn't "expect" per say. You will feel bad for the characters; you will bond with them, and feel like you too, are searching to solve this mystery.

The next story: "Brooksie" is about time travel. There is a door in Eddie's basement, which leads him to 1928, and into an amusement park. But within this town, there are "rules!"

Eddie meets Brooksie, a famous actress in hiding from her Manager. He learns of a missing person from his era, who resides within 1928, because he too- went through the door in his basement. Eddie, in order to learn about the actress whose name is really Patience Webb, researches online, while in his era. He learns she will die, and wants to prevent this from happening. Much to our surprise at the end, as to if she dies, and how....

You need to read this story, to learn the details! BUT! My favorite part about this particular story, was the story within a story. Eddie and Patience/Brooksie find a book while they are hiding out from her Manager/fiancé. They start reading a loud, to help them relax. As they read it, the author is kind enough to share it with us, and the book they are reading, is just as interesting!!

The next story: "Daylight in Blossom" is about two cousins, and their nightmares, if you will. Through their nightmares, and protecting one another- Autumn becomes convinced that her cousin is a superhero. He has always came to her rescue, and has tragic events in his life, and only gets wounded, never seeming to die.

Through out this book, you start to think that maybe Autumn is just a wee bit insane, or could possibly have other things wrong with her, and maybe she ought to seek medical attention. As the book goes on, and you realize the tragedy that Autumn and her cousin Tyler have gone through as children, it is then that you feel compelled to understand and feel bad for her.

Autumn has a pet hamster Chuckles, and that too- is an amazing tale as to how she "acquired" her hamster. And apparently through traveling-air lines seem to not permit hamsters. So Autumn must figure out what to do with her hamster.

The part that made me laugh most, was at the end of the book. You think its over, and the story is done, and then you have: "But wait...Aren't there usually more scenes during the credits?" And then we have three more scenes that will make you laugh! And these scenes DO go along with the book!
All together, I was utterly and totally impressed. As I kept reading, I didn't want to put the book down!

I just had to know more! If and when I put the book down, I would wonder about what would happen next.

If your reading material is lacking the desire to read it, you need to give Author: Scott Curtis a try. Scott Curtis is his "pen name." He lives in Munroe Falls, Ohio and has two sons and has been marries for well over eighteen years.

To reach this author simply email:scurtis.fiction@sbcglobal.net

I give this book two thumbs up, and more if I had them! On a scale of one through ten, a definite ten!

Book Review: Beyond the Even Horizon by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Book Review: Beyond the Event Horizon by Scott Curtis McElhaney

Beyond the Event Horizon

A Novel by Scott Curits

This book is three hundred and ten pages long. And when it ended, I was quite upset, because I was left wanting more.

I feel this book could very much be an ongoing mini-series or saga. I in fact contacted the writer and told him so. After all, we are all entitled to our opinions.

This book leads you in many different directions, and you will want to read it if you like time travel, mystery, suspense, science fiction with a bit of humor and romance all wrapped up into one! Yes, it can be done, and was even done so with tact and best of all-enough class to throw in Christianity!

And before you go jumping to conclusions, for those of you who feel the "Christianity" has made you "not" want to read this book, let me advise you before you turn away- this version of Christianity within the words written by Scott Curits are not pushy, and meant to force God upon you. His words may in fact just be meant to familiarize you with the Lord, and get you to " thinking." If anything.
And as you read these well written words by Scott Curtis, you will be forced to do just that---think!!

You will look at our World today, and wonder what it "may" be like in the future, because after all, we are an ever changing World. And if you are anything like me, as I read his words, I remembered our past. Hitler came to mind for me. Because within this Novel Skylar Raines, who times travels and reads journals written by the people from the future learns, people from our past have somewhat experienced, in some ways. Not every event is the same, it is in fact has became much worse, that if more people would read this book-it just might open their eyes to a reality that we might not want.
Now, into the details of my read:

As I read the book, in the beginning, I found the book very similar to Scott Curtis' other book, "Life could be a dream" reading about Skylar Raines. Then it changed dramatically. I dearly loved how the computer system and Skylar became friends, and the "Hal" comparison from 2001 space odyssey. I couldn't help but chuckle there. Then when we switched to the future characters on the ship, I was upset, because I still wanted to learn more about Skylar and what he had learned and found.

However, I fell in love with the characters on the ship, too. Autumn and Chasen, you can't help but want their future to work out. You have a mystery to wonder about, a murder, and some other strange things. It is very engaging and keeps you involved and wanting more. Then you learn about the older people on the ship, and how they tried to make it a catastrophe, and failed. Then you learn about the planet where the ship is heading to. You feel bad for those people, and what all they have been through.

Then after a while, the book takes you onto the planet, and you learn of those people. In one section, again I ended up chuckling, because of the families down there on said planet. There are children there, a blind woman, elderly people, and the people on the planet have had their fair share of attacks, and illnesses, and trials and tribulations.

My favorite section with the people on the planet was when the young adults who lived with their mother and friend, recently married decided to sneak and have sex. Mind you, they are married! To do so, they put their dresser in front of their bedroom door. They called this moving furniture. There was a conversation a few months later or so between the son's mother, the daughter in law and the son. I can't remember exactly, but it embarrassed the daughter in law, and the son said they were moving furniture. The daughter in law, explained that the furniture moving had caused her to become pregnant. The mother became ecstatic and said they could move all the furniture they wanted, in fact, get in their right now, if it meant having more grand babies she didn't care. I couldn't help but laugh! Now the son had became embarrassed, it was a great section, you really have to read it!

The spaceship makes it to the planet. Luckily the good people on the planet were in hiding because the spaceship was set up with heat censored bombs. On the other side of the planet were the bad people. No one really knows if the bad people received the forewarning transmission from Amber and Chasen that they were coming. Then as you read, you are made aware that the good people on the planet had been building a boat to get to the other side of the planet. But you are left to wonder, did they ever really make it there, and did the people ever colonize together -- .what all happened and what all could have happened.

Then you are taken back to Skylar Raines. He lands on the planet, by an escape pod, because the planet has guns and rays to shoot any landing ships out of the sky. He loses his best friend, the awesome computer I told you about. He lands safely on the planet, finds the journals and writings of these people who seemed to be missing, or dead, or -- ..something -- --

This is where I think many different ways could go with the next book -- ..

Maybe they are on the other side of the planet? Maybe they are dead -- .who's to say?

Will Scott entice us yet again with another awesome book, continuing the journey where Autumn and Chasen left off, or "what!?!?" -- ..what can Scott tell us next?

And in case you are wondering, yes Skylar Raines did return to his normal time period.

This book is two thumbs up in my eyes, and I would most definitely like to read each and every book Scott writes, as always I am a loyal fan to Scott Curtis. He is an excellent writer and I enjoy his "way with words and his imagination!" Keep it up Scott! I am a fan for life!
