Poem: My Daughter

This poem is dedicated to my daughter:

Drema Katherynne June Williams
  I have a beautiful daughter,
She's everything I dreamed she'd be-
She fills my life with laughter;
And reminds me a lot of me!
~
She's my best friend,
We love to be together-
She helps me understand;
And helps me feel better!
~
She is a loving girl,
And she's pretty too!
Although her hair doesn't curl;
Her eyes are pretty blue!!
~
She listens to my advise,
And gives me some of her own-
She's told her share of lies;
And loves to just stay home!
~
She makes me laugh out loud,
She can be down right crazy!
She stands out in any crowd;
And she definitely ain't lazy!!
~
Some may not understand her,
But that's ok with me-
She loves me that's for sure;
It's something all can see!!
~
God blessed me with a daughter,
And she's everything I dreamed she'd be;
And yes I'm glad she has her brothers-
My daughter completes my family!!!

Poem: Hold on Please!

Hold on Please!

Deneale K. Williams

I don't want you to leave,
I don't want to let you go....
Yet it's you I deceive;
I never let you know.
~
Soon your life may end,
And all I do is cry....
Hoping you will mend;
Then you won't have to die.
~
I know you are in pain,
I know it isn't fair...
Someday you may gain;
And beat this nightmare!
~
Fighting may someday pay,
So always have the will....
Win over this disease today;
"Cause I know you've had your fill!

What Am I? # 15

This is a poem which is also a game. Play along, what is the shame? In the comments section, let us know if you figured it out, if you didn't- there's no reason to pout!

CLUES:
I have wings, and I can fly,

I fly fast and way up high.

Before I flew I used to crawl,

An inch at a time, and that was all.

We often stop to smell the roses,

And you cannot see our noses!

Different sizes, colors and shapes-are how we are known,

Where the land is warm, we call that home.

We make a tent to change into flight,

And stay there for many a night.

We make no noise that you can hear,

And in the Winter-we disappear.

Nibbling on leaves is how we live,

And beauty is what we give.

One thing we don't understand,

Is the name you gave-it's too bland!

My friends and I have voted, and we say:

Change our name to "Beautifly" today!

My Personal Recipe: Hamburger Gravy

Recipe: Hamburger Gravy

Now that my kids are getting older and moving away and starting families of their own, they are wanting my recipes. So, I thought I would share it with everyone!

Hamburger Gravy

Items needed:
Ground Hamburger or Ground Chuck (your choice and quantity)
Flour
Milk (your choice also)
Water
salt and pepper
Butter or margarine
(optional: Onions and/or mushrooms)
Frying pan
Stove
Utensils

First you take the hamburger and ground it up into small pieces. This takes approximately 15 minutes. You can salt and pepper it while cooking it, if you desire. (If you desire adding onions and or mushrooms, you can saute them with the meat, for a great added flavor.

Once the hamburger is done, do not drain the grease and throw it away. The grease is going to help you with the flavoring.

Turn the burner off, and then pour in a cup of flour.

Next pour in a cup pf milk.

Add a shot glass of water.

A tablespoon of butter or margarine

Sprinkle on salt and pepper, to your liking.

Turn the burner on low, and begin stirring. The thickness that you want your gravy is up to you, as well as the taste. You can keep adding water, milk, flour and salt and pepper. As it warms up, you can and should keep taste testing. This will help you get it to the taste you are hoping to acquire. Once you get it hot, and to the thickness you want, it is ready to serve. Turn the burner off!

After this is done, you can do several things. I personally like having my hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes. But you can also have it over biscuits, and even hamburger patties.

You can also choose to do this with sausage, to make the ever famous sausage gravy. Just be certain to remember that you will need the excess grease and oils that cook off of of your meat products, to help your recipe taste even better!

Feel free to add your own special touches, or even remove something. You can have this meal for a dinner or a breakfast! That's one thing great about it!!

Please note: this recipe does not look appetizing, but it is. Not everything you put into your belly is beautiful! Your finished product will look a bit grayish, and lumpy. That is normal.

This recipe I figured out on my own through experimenting. My Mother made it all the time for us as kids, but unfortunately her recipes went to her grave with her.
