A Few Quick & Easy Remedies for Personal Stress & More!

A Few Quick & Easy Remedies for Personal Stress & More!

Did you know there are other things you can do and take for ailments and injuries, stress, and lack of sleep? I'm sure you have heard of "Old Wives Tales" and even herbal remedies right?

Lets start off with something simple: to prevent getting sick, you could be taking vitamins, or those new products that are on the market now like "airborne" and things like this, they are supposed to help build up your immune system.

Another good thing you need to think about before ever making changes is

FIRST: Consult your Doctor and tell him or her; what you are considering doing

SECOND: Change your eating habits and get excercise, unless of course you are already doing these things.

Now then, to prepare ourselves: for something like when someone in your house brings home a cold or illness, immediately start taking Vitamin C and consider even getting a can of "Lysol." Even a bottle or two of "Germ-X" in the bathrooms will help. This way you aren't just washing your hands, you are completely removing ninety nine percent of all germs!

If you are stressed, and if you have ever heard of the prescription "Valium" then you will recognize its herbal namesake "Valerian Root." This is used for anxiety, stress, and to help you relax. It is best to take one or two before bed. With tension, anxiety and stress, St. John's Wort helps with all of these.

To sleep, there is an herb called "Melatonin." However, do not get too dependant on it, if you do, your own body will quit producing Melatonin on its own. This too, should be taken a half hour before bed time, and can be combined with other herbs such as Valerian root, for the cause and effect.

A quick and easy cure for ringworm, is apply clear nail polish to the effected area, let dry. If in a few days, traces of the polish are still there, wash it off, or even chip it off. If you had a bad case of ring worm, this may take more than one treatment, depending on how bad it really is. Ring worms also come in many different sizes.

For yeast infections, which are usually caused due to being on antibiotics- yogurt is a good cure. It tastes good, and somehow levels the yeast levels in your system. However, when getting the over the counter cures, you do not have to spend top dollar, the store brand names work just as well, as the name brand products.

For abdominal pains, peppermint leaves are good. And studies have shown that ginger can help prevent motion sickness. On a more personal note, I have found that the bracelets they sell at the pharmacy for motion sickness do help a wee bit, least wise for me. It is said that it pinches a nerve, or something along this nature, to alleviate the symptoms.

A good herb for acid reflux, or the acidy feeling in your tummy, is acidopholis. Sometimes, depending on just how bad you are feeling, you can take several.

There are many other kinds of cures and things you can learn when studying and taking herbs, and natural remedies, and advise from "the old wives tales." It doesn't always hurt to try it, either. I was always told- "Don't knock it, 'til you've tried it!"

SPECIAL NOTE!= Nothing I have said here is guaranteed to help you. Medical treatment or advise is suggested, especially in more major of the cases, especially with depression, stress, and anxiety. Also I would suggest not going through those items alone, find you someone that you can talk to, holding things in only makes situations worse!

Government Assistance: Utilities and Government Agencies (A True Insight!)

Government Assistance:

Utilities and Government Agencies

(A True Insight!)

How Do They Pick and Choose?

I have previously written an article published on Associated Content, about going without things, (which will be found in this blog its titled: "Going Without! A True Story!") and my event was electricity. And because of recent events, and what not- I am forced to point out something that might just leave your jaw dropped, just as it did mine.
The same place that I lived where we (my family and I) went without power; there was a family going without water. No one knew this, until we all started noticing our water bills sky rocketing. Several of us hired plumbers to check for leaks, others had landlords re-do plumbing and lawn sprinklers. It wasn't until one night, that my neighbor and I sat quietly talking on the porch that we seen how our water bills had been climbing. We witnessed this older woman in her fifties take a bucket and walk up to peoples outdoor faucet and fill the bucket with water and then go home. Why didn't she tell any of us, or ask even?! We were shocked!

                                  http://chanceseales.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/u-s-capitol-building.jpg

Because our bills had went well above reasonable, we had no choice but to inform the water department. The water department said we were responsible for these high bills, and were required to also pay more into deposits and what not. And you are probably thinking we were being crude. But you see, we are talking over four hundred dollars.

                                        http://www.projectflipside.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/utility-bills-2.jpg

And this woman, has a son who lives with her, in his thirties and he sits at home, doing nothing all day. Because he goes door to door complaining about his mother, refuses to do what she asks of him, we all started nagging him about getting a job. All he would do is laugh!

                                          http://usacac.army.mil/CAC2/AOKM/Connected/images/DollarSigns.jpg

So we told that water department what we witnessed, and ask if anything could be done, or what we should do. They documented our input, and we gave the location of the residence without water. The representative asked if their trash had been being picked up every week, to which, yes it was. That is why no one suspected anything. Everyone's trash on the street, was picked up. And the trash is a part of the water bill.

The water department called the Police, because this was theft of a utility and services. This made us feel bad; all we wanted was a waiver or something because we all had discovered the reasoning in the heightened water bills.

The Police go to the home without water, and speak to the people. That night, their water is back on!
The woman was pleased, so she came door to door bragging. We asked her why she had been without water in the first place, and she said because the bill had gotten too high, and she didn't have the money to pay it. But she has and had internet the whole time, and even cable TV!

                                      http://iwritearticle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/money.jpg

I was flabbergasted, because of her priorities. Did she tell the Police she prioritized cable and internet BEFORE water? I am thinking no, and wondering if she played the role of a victim instead.

I know what you're thinking. But it isn't jealousy. I had children, and a legitimate situation, and no cable! My husband was working, it's just that the hours were lacking. We prioritized a roof over our head BEFORE our power. And the neighbors called child services, and we were investigated by them and the Police, and no one could or would lend a helping hand.

Why not?

What is the difference? Yeah, water is more important then electric, I agree with that. But where do the government agencies get their rules and requirements as to whom they can help and whom they cannot? Do they really even care as to the how and why's?

And yes, I was glad that someone did help the old lady and her son out, because it helped all of us out, in the long run. Unfortunately my water was turned off because lack of funds to pay for it though, and I still have an outstanding bill with the water department because of that. I had to move, because of the water bill, the over priced landlord, and lack of monies. All of this- compiled-happened all at once and was sinking us rapidly, so we moved.

The water department KNOWS that these people had no water, and they know there was a theft going on, they investigated. The Police obtained the proof for them! But I am still responsible for the bill. How is that right? What am I missing here?

How to Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten

How to Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten

When you have kids, you love them, and protect them. They are your life, and everything that you live for. You keep them innocent for as long as you can.....

That is until they have to go to Public School!!

The first day of Kindergarten is stressful for both the Child and the adult. And believe it or not, the child can tell, if you are upset too.

The first thing you need to do, is be strong, and try not to show that you will miss your child. Be happy and proud for your child, they are growing up!

And don't think just because you cried, or were upset with the first child, that it won't happen with the second child, because I have had 5, and it upset me each and every time!

It is scary for both the child and you......

Why?

You have to worry about the "real" World changing your child, teaching him or her bad things, and then you will worry about how you can unteach the corruption from the other children. With you, you could choose what your child learned and knew. In School, it's not just the other children, it's the teachers as well.

Your child is going to worry, if it is safe without you. After all, most of us taught our children not to talk to strangers, yet here you are throwing your child right into a group of them! Your child is going to worry about making friends, and will he or she be as smart as the other children, to say the least.
It is best to prepare your child. Have a sit down every few days before School starts. And not in the format of a lecture. Pull up a chair, and a coloring book, and color together. Nonchalantly as the two of you are talking, bring up the subject of School.

"You're so lucky, Timmy. When I was in School, I loved it! I had so many friends! My favorite class was gym. I wonder what yours will be?"

This opens a door for discussion, and then it eases the pain. Your child thinks about your times, what you did, and how you want him or her to go, and how you miss it.

Do not sit there, reminiscing about the bad times, when you were in the Principals office getting swats or what not! This is not going to be a positive affect if you do this!

Children love to hear stories of our own Childhood. It makes us as the Parents seem more realistic. Not just a Mommy and Daddy figure. And if you can make the transition from being a baby, and a toddler to a School kid any easier, you will not regret it in the long run.

Once you take your child to School the first day, do not get emotional. Simply take him or her in, introduce them to the teacher, (thus resolving the "stranger" issue) and ask the teacher where your child should sit. Hopefully there will be another child there sitting too, so once you sit your child down- maybe it can make a friend right off. If no one is there, or you are even too early, maybe the teacher will let you sit down a few minutes with your child and wait. Show no fear, don't cry, and don't act like you are in a rush, and can't wait to get away. You too, need to relax. If your child starts talking to someone else, let them. Don't interfere. Once your child gets wrapped up in another conversation, try to sneak away. Hopefully your child won't even notice.

If your child is a crier, and insists that you stay, chances have it, your child will not be the only one. Most kindergarten teachers will allow the parents to stay, to make the transition easier on everyone, including the teacher. Remember to relax, and most of all, act proud that your child is going to School. Smile, and be patient. There will be a time when the time is right, to leave, you will know.
If the crying and not wanting you to leave lasts more then two days, there are some serious issues that need resolved. You need to put your foot down, you need to enforce that it is time for your child to grow up, that he or she cannot be a baby any longer. Keep using the word baby. No, it is not 'name calling!" You are simply pointing out that once you are no longer a baby, there are things you are expected to do. Point out things that babies do, they get baby bottles, breast fed, and diapers. Now point out that your child no longer needs these things. But instead, your child now needs Schooling.
Explain intensely the purpose of School. To educate and grow up and maybe become a Doctor or Nurse. Or how about a fireman? Build ideas in your child's head, things that he or she can do and be when they grow up. Talk about recess, friends, and gym class. If you have a neighbor friend that attends School, remind your child of this. Even a relative who attends School. Point out how much fun they have, and how they get to play and do things. While you're at it, if your child can spell his or her name, or even count and say its ABC's. remind them, they might need to help their friends learn that. Point out to your child that you educated them a little in advance before School started to help them out. Make it seem interesting that they will be able to share what they have already learned, and maybe even help the teacher! Keeping positive is always a good way to get what you want or need as a Parent in most any case.

A friend of mine, had problems with her Child, and became so fed up, that she put her five year old back into the diaper and made a bottle and put her to bed, without TV. Then when company came, she pointed out that her daughter could not come out and play or visit, that she was choosing to be a baby, and refusing to go to School. Her child whimpered and cried in the bed, and eventually fell to sleep. When the Mothers alarm went off for School the next morning, she walked into her daughters room and asked, "So what's it going to be Baby?" Her daughter answered with, "I want to go to School Mommy, I'm a big girl!"

As with anything, each Child is different, just like you and I. It also depends, because we all have different rules, and how we raise our Children. Everyone has different techniques and we could sit here all day reminiscing and discussing them. You simply have to find your niche, and learn from it. And if you have more then one child, remember this: no two are alike. If you think you have it mastered, trust me-- you don't!

"the Missing": Helping "the Missing" Become Found!

"the Missing": Helping "the Missing" Become Found!

Some Thought Provoking Idea's!

Have you ever been prone to watch "True Crime"? If not, maybe you might be familiar with shows like "Law and Order" or even "CSI." Sometimes these shows, are even based on true stories, although the names, places and dates may be changed to protect the innocent.

Now I want you to reflect, and recall if you've ever heard stories on the News of Missing Children, or even Adults.

For my next thought, I'd like you to again remember TV shows, or documentaries and even "breaking news" (you know when the news interrupts your regular scheduled programming; when they break in to tell you something important)-usually critical, or something local. On an occasion-even National appalling news.

These things stick into your mind, but for how long? If its people you don't know, you remember it maybe a day or two? If it's a National Catastrophe, maybe you remember for a Month. And when its people you don't know, and people that don't "matter" to you, how long do you remember those appalling details of their untimely death? Or of their capture, when they were kidnapped from their own home? What about the picture on the news of the missing persons? You don't know them, so how long will you remember their info?

Now I want you to picture with me, missing children, kidnapped, abductions, news of missing people, later found.......dead. Picture victims of crimes. Worse then you've ever seen on TV, because they really have to be a little more discreet on TV. Details of the crime are always left out, in hopes of drawing out the real criminals. Are you picturing these things? They aren't pretty are they?

Now, these are little things compared to the fact that-if you really think about it-there are obviously just so many people always missing. People that never get recovered, let alone-made "known" that they are even missing! I mean, if you think about it- if an adult went missing in Germany, here we are in the USA, what are the chances that "we" in the USA will ever hear tell of it?

I mean seriously think about this. The coverage is the same in the United States. Someone, adult or children comes up missing in California, people in Maine aren't going to hear much about it, unless, and I repeat unless the missing person has "acquaintances" in Maine. Amber alerts are National, but just how many people physically "see" them? There are honestly a lot of people who do not watch TV lately, because of all of the crime and "crap" on it! Some people can't always afford it! I can personally vouch, that my family and I went without TV last year for seven whole months because of lack of income!

And I want to know why we just can't put more amber alerts on TV, and even some of the "missing" on a commercial here and there, every now and then. I mean, why not? We advertise all kinds of stuff, why not advertise something worthy? And don't tell me that the sponsors don't want to pay for it, and that the "missing" people's families can't afford it, it should be a tax write off, a donation! If more "missing" were seen, "more" people might get recovered!

For some of us-do you remember the "Missing Children" Milk cartons? Just because we no longer use milk cartons, doesn't mean we no longer want to see and KNOW these people are missing. And remember the flyer's that used to come in the mail with all the rest of the spam? The one with the age progression photos? Where are they now? I haven't seen those in ages either! And trust me, I looked!

Just because some people said it didn't work, doesn't mean it didn't, because if ONE person looked, that is ONE more then NONE! I say, keep the advertisements for the missing coming, no matter who complains! The word needs to get out! People matter, whether they are Children or adults, they matter!

Now don't get me wrong, I know that there are missing people that really don't want to be found. But what's sadder there, is that government funding is put into finding these people that "don't" want found! When these people should have the nerve to speak up, and fix the problem. Announce to the people looking for them, "I'm not missing, I just don't want found-I don't want to be with you anymore! Move on!" No one says that you have to "say" where you're at! Everyone understands getting fed up with abuse, or a relationship! What we don't understand, is why you insist on wasting the governments money! Get with the program, if you're "not" lost, stop "pretending" and let the "people" and the "government" use the money on the "real" missing!

But on the same token, there are people who are in hiding by the government-yet people continue to look for "them" as well. No one can say anything, because the government is after a bigger fish. With this scenario, the government should put their "phony" missing person on a "w-a-y" back burner. Or make it vanish, somehow-quietly. Funding and time should not be wasted on this either.

And let's not forget about the people with Alzheimer's and amnesia. As these people roam our little planet lost-usually pretending to be homeless-there are people at home missing these people. Home, worried, and missing their loved ones. And if you have ever watched "Cold Case" I remember seeing an episode where a woman who was missing for well over twenty five years was found. She had amnesia. She was hit by a car under a bridge. Twenty five years later, she was found and brought to her family, a family she didn't know, or remember.

What about people in boating accidents, drowning accidents, who haven't been recovered because the Sea has claimed their body and soul. Sunken ships in battle? Pirate ships? Even the Titanic. All those lost people.

Then we have the murder victims who have been killed and left to die alone in "the woods" or "put into the ground" or even left to die in the trunk of a car in a junk yard where no one will ever discover your crime. So many options, so many places to hide a dead body on this little planet of ours! Lost, missing bodies of people who are loved, but missing!

And of course, we can't forget the people who kidnap for the money, and later realize they aren't going to get away with it. Or what happens when the Officer "accidentally" shoots the suspect before he or she can tell us where the victim is? A victim twice over?

And naturally we can't forget the famous runaways. These people come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. Minors running away from child abuse, orphanages, sexual abuse, and sometimes-for no reason at all. Regardless, they feel the street is a better and safer place for them. And sometimes it is, but not always. Sometimes these people have to run in the spur of a moment, no time to think. When they should go to a Shelter, or ask someone for help. But in some cases, time is of the essence. And in most cases, these are some people who also become listed as missing. Sometimes it is a friend who speaks out, missing you, but it might have been the bad person you were running from who found you. And this is how you can end up dead. Sometimes....it just seems like there just is no right or wrong turn...

And let us not forget the most forgotten people, the homeless. To so many, they seem small and unimportant. But they are people too. They matter, and yes they have family. Some haven't chosen to be living in boxes, or behind buildings, or in shelters. These are ordinary people just like me and you, who once worked for a living, and had a nice home, and tried to make ends meet, and fell on hard times. So many of us, snub them, thinking we are better than them. But truly, we are all the same on the inside. And when a homeless person comes up missing, another homeless person has to say something, and no one cares to listen. And somewhere back home, someone is ashamed of this family member, this homeless person-so who's to know when they come up missing after all? How many homeless people are homeless and listed as missing? I suggest keeping tabs on homeless friends or family-if you know any of them. In other words, check in on them every day or so! Yes, they too-matter!

So I ask you, how many people are missing who "shouldn't be?" How many people are missing and dead and we've not just found them yet? How many homeless people are we ashamed to know and claim? How many homeless people are listed as missing because they are in fact-homeless! And how many people have been missing for a while- and didn't even "know" they were missing-because of their amnesia or Alzheimer's-or who knows what else. How many people know their missing and just don't want found? And how many dead bodies are "swimming with the fishes?" and even "buried six feet under." And people here, are worried about them.

Personally, I think we need to get the "know" out more. People just don't "know" enough.
So to help, as best as I can, I have researched, and found these sites, that can help you in finding missing people and children. And some of these sites, can help in multiple ways! Please, check them out! Even if you don't think you "know" anyone. Look, anyway.

We need more visibility on our missing Children and people. We waste our time and efforts on commercials with lizards, commercials for cosmetics, and sexual enhancement products, then why not advertise our missing? We need more on sight communication, more thought provoking words, and more pictures of these little children, those lost people-missing from our lives. We need to bring them home. And together, we can. Come on people, let's make a difference! Bring them home where they belong, show them to us, more often, let us see them, let us remember their photo when we walk down the streets and see a stranger. Let us put two and two together, and make them four again!
~ ~ ~
Let it be known that the links are also my resources. I did in fact, research each site thoroughly to see what all they had to offer.

Other then that, the idea to advertise- is my opinion, and my opinion only. No one can take claim for my thoughts or my words, they are my own.
