Lefties Can Crochet too!

Lefties Can Crochet Too!

Did you know that as a left handed person, you need things taught to you differently? We do. And that is why I want to bring this to your attention, if you are left handed person, I can offer you some advice.

Firstly, when I was younger, my parents and teachers ALL tried to force right handed-ness on me. I was told I was using the wrong hand. However, I don't know if that is why I cut with scissors with my right or not.

I have an advantage, being forced to be right handed I can now write with both hands, it is probably the reason I can use scissors with my right. I do prefer my left for writing, though.

Now in order to learn to crochet, I had to watch my Mother, whom was right handed, from the back. In other words, I sat on the floor, and viewed her crochet the way she does, and see it the way it would be for me. Mind you, yes I have seen my crochet, next to that of a right handed person. The stitches are the same; I just use my other hand. So my advice to those that are left handed and want to learn to crochet, and the only people you can find to teach you- is righties- do it this way. Sit on your butt, on the floor and watch them crochet. The teacher, needs to speak and explain what they are doing. Chain one, chain two, double crochet, single crochet, etc. They also need to explain it like this: take the hook, grab one, throw away two, grab one, throw away two. Making it make sense to you, the learner, as it is being learned and taught.

The same goes for stitching needle work, and plastic canvas. Simply use your left hand, and watch with the right handed person. If you watch, and specifically listen, you will comprehend it eventually.
Anything the right handed person can do, so can the left handed person. It just takes more time in teaching, and listening. It takes a person that has the patience. It also takes the lefty, being patient as well. It isn't going to be easy, and you have to want it.

Crocheting is a good stress reliever; least wise it is for me. You may find it is for you as well. Except when you have to do a lot of counting, if you distract easily. Stay focused, and practice.
Also, I would like to tell you, YOUR stitches as a beginner, will look nothing like someone who has been crocheting for years. In the beginning you will be loose, as you practice; you will get tighter, and better at what you are doing. Just because it looks sloppy, or tacky doesn't mean- have a fit and throw it down. It means you are learning, go with the flow. Consider your first project a learning experience. Trust me on this, your stitches will look loose, or they may be too tight-and you will, I promise get better. Talk to anyone that crochets, ask them to show you there beginning work- if they still have it- it will look very different from what they do now! Have patience, that is the key, and be willing to learn and make mistakes.

They say, being left handed means we are in the right frame of mind. I'm sure you have heard that theory. And the right side, is creativity. If you already draw, doodle, and paint, and other things artistic, than you will get this. And you will be good at it! I know it!

Insight: Real Arcade & Game Pass!

I wanted to share something I have had for many years now. You might have heard of it, whenever I tell people about it, they usually don't believe me. So I figure if I put it in print, stating it as fact- then there is a chance, and it can benefit others.

You see, I have been a "Real Arcade Game-Pass Member" for many of years now. When I first joined it was $6.95 a month, giving you one free game a month. I know what you're thinking; you are really paying for the game. Maybe, but there is an advantage.

You see, "Real Arcade" keeps all your information stored, under your desired password. If you crash your computer, or even get another, you can re-download your games again, and again, and again! There is a link to each free game you have gotten, and the other games that you bought, at a discounted rate because you were a member.

Now there rates have went up to, I believe it's $7.95, some where around there, don't quote me on that. Basically, it's almost $8 now, but remember the big picture. They are storing everything you download, no need to burn it to CD, hoping it won't get scratched!

And they have some really good games, too. And you can even play for real money online. I like the variety in games, there are tons. I like the fact that I don't have to save everything they do it for me.
And another advantage, they didn't used to do this: roll over. If I forget to redeem my month free, the credit now stays. I have never had more than two credits waiting for me, because eventually I remember to cash it in. I didn't know they started it, until several months ago. But I can tell you, I was one of the ones who completed their survey, about what we wanted, and I wanted our credits to roll over, it's not really easy to remember to cash them in! I also asked them to email me a reminder that my credit was available, or expiring, and they were doing that for me too!

So give them a chance, they give you a free game to start with, and it really is awesome. You will have to download the "Real Arcade" game package first, then your free game. Everything will stay within the "Real Arcade" game system, on your computer. It can also read your drive for various games that you already have, and give you tips to those games. It is referred to as a game guide. And always let your game guide, and the "Real Arcade" Network update itself. I do think, you may have to permit the firewall to allow this all to happen.

I love my "Real Arcade" and if you love games, you will too! A few games off the top of my head are: Zuma, Bejeweled, Diamond Mine, Chains, and many, many more. There are even word games, card games, and board games! How can you ever think you lived without it before? Trust me, give it a try. What do you have to loose? The first month is free!

Insight into Hatred

As defined in the dictionary:

Hatred - (noun) the emotion of intense dislike; a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action.
Notice in the above definition, "a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action."

For every action, there is always a reaction. And if someone is causing you to hate them, they have you under control. You thoughts are of them, your desire is to get even, or lash out, and make it known that they are not liked.

Let's think for a moment shall we? What made you hate this person? What did this person do to you, to make you hate them? Because obviously they have had to do something.

If this person did nothing, is it jealousy? Because then you need to think of it this way, your hatred is not legitimately hatred. It is more envious then anything.

If this person stole something from you, abused in any way shape or form, then we need to look at it in another way also. Why did they steal from you in the first place? If they abused you, let's go with physically-what made them do it?

Why am I looking for reasons behind hatred? Because there has to be a reason, there was something down the line that made it happen.

And sometimes more often then not, our hatred cannot be justified. Sometimes we get so distracted by our daily activities; eventually we even forget why it is, that we hate someone.

Don't let your hatred consume you. It will eat you up inside, and take control. There are better things that you can be doing. Focus on yourself, things that need done, where you could go to relax, and what is more important. Everything is more important than hate.

To hate is human, to let it consume you, is pure evil.

Opinion: How Accurate Are Tarot Readings?

How Accurate Are Tarot Readings?

 http://api.ning.com/files/sUfm8dRzT5owoFmHGG2QRnjBP9QeBpgGEFTEe-83ZomLYSEDYl5GzzJN43wVsSTZSjzu4B-ya*igs5604WV0qaMM4l7VfI3t/LegacyDivineTarot4.jpg

 My Personal Insight

Have you ever had a Tarot reading?

I have had a Tarot reading on several occasions. I was shunned by many friends who found out about this, calling a Tarot read, that of the Devil.

But I couldn't help but be curious, so much so- that I went out and bought my own deck and book. I read it from cover to cover, and then researched it more, both on-line and at the library.

Religious guru's say that if the Lord wanted you to know the future, He would tell you, or He would give you the "insight" to see it for yourself.

I ended up with several books, and then started "reading" my friends and family. I ended up being scaringly accurate.

But the weird thing, is whenever "anyone" reads mine, they are 90% wrong, each and every time. And I even gave the reader a heads up on things that were supposed to happen, and what not. For that matter, I went pregnant with my third son, and the reader told me it would finally be my girl. Ta-da-It wasn't, I had another boy!

In order to give a reading, a person needs to know a few things about you. If you are married, involved, how many children, if any. What kind of job you have, and your goals. Then you can of course ask a specific question, and ask the reader to focus only on that. The thing is, to be honest. Lying will only make your reading majorly inaccurate, and the only one you will be able to blame- is yourself.

http://api.ning.com/files/Vq9yIsbNU6JtJkOqV02ePQGynbuQHuz5A6UUDpajxXU08RgdCFfHjb*m28q9XT-XhNuSnnM3*Au9DJokmx2MoKla*q-tr66d/tarot_cards.jpg

Within the deck of tarot cards, there are several cards that freak people out, namely: death. Another is the Hanged man, and then sometimes the Fool card seems to concern people.

The deck itself consists of 78 cards. Each card has a unique meaning. But that meaning has to work with your reading, and what it is you want or need to know. Let us say for instance you want to know if you will live to be eighty. When you ask this you are 40. The readers lays down cards such as the fool and death, that right there, basically answers your question without any further adieu.

Plain and simple. But if you are shown the 2 of cups and the seven of swords, amongst a few other cards, you of course will need an explanation. Hopefully your reader, will be able to assist you, to which I am certain they will be able to.

The Tarot has been around for thousands of years. Some people use it in carnivals for entertainment, their goal is to only make money. Others use it to help one another. Sometimes it can be a scam, and other times it can be the real thing.

If you go to a person and they give you Tarot readings, usually you can tell a phony right off, by their actions. But sometimes, you just might not be certain.

How accurate are Tarot readings? It depends on the reader. Most of the time, I would justify the correct answer to this as: it varies. Again this falls back on you, as well as the reader.

The choice is yours.

However, as with anything, do not put a halt to your plans, or drastically change your life because of a Tarot read. There are no guarantee, only God knows what He has planned for you.
Tarot is basically meant for fun and entertainment. Both for you, and the reader. Even the reader knows they have a good chance on being wrong, and will warn you of this, if they are open and honest.

Because I can and do Tarot readings, does not make me any less of a Christian or person. I am not telling you, or anyone else for that matter- to make changes to their lives, to stop their beliefs, and I definitely am not telling anyone to do this and do that. I do it for fun, I do not charge, and I just do it to see how accurate I am, and I am having fun while doing it. I am not harming a soul. I am not forcing my beliefs or choices on you, or anyone else.

A tarot reading is something you can choose to have done, or not. After having a reading done, rather then judging from the get go, and being skeptical- in a few weeks, go have another. From a different reader. It isn't scary, and it is educational, in its own way. Don't be afraid. No one says you have to go back after that, if it makes you uncomfortable, then don't do it again. No one "should" be judging you.

People that go around pointing fingers and judging, and calling one another non-Christians because they want to learn, and grow- need THEIR head examined. The Devil does not guide the hands of the Tarot reader, unless THAT Tarot reader is a non-Christian who forces their non-Christian beliefs on you. Not everything people choose to do, and choose to believe, is the Devils work. Stop being hypocritical, and focus on your own skeletons before attacking others!

Opinion: Mythology, Science & Religion!

Mythology, Science & Religion:

Just my two cents.....

This was not published on yahoo voices, or Associated content.

Written by Deneale K Williams

I've been wanting to start writing something like this for quite sometime, but haven't had the time. I also wasn't certain if I wanted to do it as a book, or what. But then I was like, a blog would be perfect, because then you could actually start a discussion, providing you could actually get others to respond; (crossing fingers!)

You see, I like to watch these certain shows, and I've been watching them since I was really young. TV was about the only thing we were really allowed to do as kids, believe it or not. And as an adult, having Children every two years, and surgeries in between, (not just sitting on my rear doing nothing like some seem to think; including my own Children! Sorry, I just had to put that out there...) the TV is something you learn is always there.

Also one of my favorite subjects in School was Mythology. Learning about the Gods, and what not. And then, as a teen on Channel 43, WUAB in Akron, Ohio; on the week ends every so often, there would be these old specials with "The Gods" involving Zues and what not. It was a rather old show then, trust me. It was so old, it was right when they learned, and I will tell you exactly what was on the screen: "Technicolor!" In other words, it was one of the first color Movies made.

The point I'm trying to slowly, (obviously) get to here, is something I have came to notice over the years while watching TV shows, series, Movies and what not. I've noticed that a lot of them follow the same "idea" if you will, and not on purpose. It's like everyone knows, or believes the same thing.

So this has made me do some thinking, and in order to make you do some thinking too, I need to point out the things I've learned, so you can see and follow along. Then afterwards, maybe you too, will even see other things I've missed, or even disagree with me. Who knows.

I want to start with "StarGate SG1" one of my ultimate favorite series. I own the entire collection. Firstly, let me say, I give this show five of five stars, I just want to put that out there.

Now then, with "StarGate" we learn of the Asgard. now mind you, you can argue about the spelling, some may spell it differently, it depends on you, but I looked it up. Now on "StarGate" I'm personally noticing these particular "Aliens" as looking like the ones the entire World describes as seeing in real life. Just think about that one. Point number one.

Changing subjects real quick, I would like to add a quick side note if you will. Regarding Aliens. If they weren't real, then tell me, why is it, 99% of the World describes them the same? If you're wanting attention wouldn't you describe "your Alien" to look like the ones from the Movie "Alien" with Sigourney Weaver?! I mean come on! Yet NASA and the entire Government denies everything, and these people have "returned" with odd pieces of metal in them, allegedly probed and what not, willing to be inspected and by our own Government to prove their own theory, only to be called "Liars" in the end?! Seriously? And yet, everyone's stories match.....you tell me.....who the liar really is with that one.

Ok back on the Mythology topic. Ok, so I've pointed out, that I personally think the Asgard's as seen in "StarGate" make a perfect match up with the "Aliens" people are claiming to have seen.

The next subject I'd like to touch on, would be Thor. He is Asgard, but yet in the Marvel Comics Movies, he is a sexy hunk of a man. Loki, his brother, although we later learn "adopted" brother not a true child of Asgard, but a Child of the "Frost Giants!" These Asgardians look nothing like the Aliens portrayed in "StarGate", but still, we are reliving Mythology in this Movie as well.

Thor on "StarGate" was nothing like the Marvel Comics Character, however he did have a hammer, and a planet that he derived it to trap Jaffa. Once in the cave with the Thor's Hammer trap there was usually no way out for the Jaffa, because they were incubating a Gua'ld. Death was usually the result, but if you've ever watched "StarGate" they always manage to save the team of SG1. In the end, they destroy the Hammer, ruining the plan of Thor and a place to rid the Jaffa of growing more God's.

Speaking of God's, the theory on "StarGate" whereas the God's are snakes and need put into people? No, this I beg to differ with. Never in a million years would I ever see anything realistically
Iike this ever happening. A snake type creature, is seemingly evil, which might be what they were hoping to portray here, since these Gods were/are in fact evil. For that matter, I don't recall an Apophis in the Mythology, but I could be wrong, and haven't taken the time to thoroughly research it as of yet, if I do I will update this later, and make a note of it.

Another thing I was thinking about the Mythological Gods. (This is where I'm going to irritate people to say the least, and putting it nicely!) In the Bible, (Pause for affect) God states as a Commandment: "Thou shalt not put any other God's before me!" Number one, I am going to touch on a number of bases here, so be prepared. And everyone knows that Science and Religion don't mix, so this is going to get touchy, but I need to get this off of my chest, it's been sitting here since I was like nine!

Number one, how did God know there were other Gods? And don't even feed me that crap where He meant idols and worshipping things. Nope, not going to work. And here's another, who says, (you're really going to like this one! Probably not!) but who says that the God speaking the Commandments wasn't Zues? Have you ever thought of that? I'll let you all think about what I've said for a few....because I'm not done....

Here's something else. Humans are far from perfect. You know it, and I know it. For that matter, I bet you can find typos in this blog if you look. Just making a point, I usually have typos somewhere, just saying. My point being, with that said; God is stating the Commandments and they are being written, on a concrete tablet. That in itself isn't easy. How many times have you lost your place when you yourself were reading or doing something? How badly would it freak you out to be talked to by a Spirit, or even a burning bush, per se? I mean, be honest. And then to scribe what you're being told onto concrete, yeah. You're not going to make any mistakes, you're going to be perfect, because God told you to. Here's hoping!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming on the Bible, I'm not disagreeing with it, or anything like that. Don't go assuming. I am a Christian. I don't care what anyone says, Christians can wonder. I have been told, "A true believer doesn't wonder, that's called being a 'doubting Thomas!'" Whatever. I call it having an open mind, always wanting to learn and educate myself.

There was more I wanted to add, but I feel I may have made enough people mad just by writing this entry, which was not my intent. So I guess I will end it here. Maybe I will just make a continuance later, if this entry doesn't cause me complications. I'm hoping it doesn't, I am honestly being an open minded, person, I truly enjoy learning, and educating myself, and sharing myself with others. I believe communication is the key to success, and with that, we can all grow. Therefore, I opened myself up to you all.

My Insight on "Dahmer" the Video

My Insight on Dahmer, the Video

http://www.milwaukeesfinest.net/sitebuilder/images/dahmermug-550x374.jpg
 http://37.media.tumblr.com/1034a543c2941de0ad0346716207c466/tumblr_mr6yaunXlL1qk9pslo1_500.jpg
I have decided to do my video analysis on Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer.

The reason for my choosing him as my video analysis is quite simple, and before you assume, I will explain.

I have always thought of Jeffrey Dahmer as a very honest person, when asked questions he answers them, and he always accepts all blame, and never blames the way he is on his parents.
 http://i.cdn.turner.com/trutv/trutv.com/graphics/photos/serial_killers/notorious/dahmers/5b.jpg
The other reasons are because he lived around me, in Ohio, and it became familiar with me, because it was always in the News Papers.

A lot of people think that if you believe or support, or even understand Dahmer, that you are a hater of gays. That is not true with me; in fact it is farthest from my reasoning in trying to understand the man, the person behind the crime.
 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSIuRHCUPtFUhz94i1GcB5zOTVk-bZQrhyj2GJlsu5MF8AvfyecfYqJ-_GebdZXc1twS0VKiLd2Df-0aIks9tN-FKRyiuT7YzLWAyPLGxMclfl377I_RJhE-b4DThIrNQ3vXyfhKVD4Gc/s400/alk2.jpg
Now let me tell you about the video titled "Dahmer" that portrays the life of this man. This man was a cannibal. The video portrays him as having family, and parental problems. When in fact, the interviews by Newscasters, and TV personalities Dahmer answered questions and point blankly said his parents didn't make him this way, and that he did not have an abusive childhood. The man continued to state that he was a loaner and that God had in fact led him to believe to focus on the gay men of society, as they were a danger. Dahmer admitted also in interviews that he had a taste and desire for human bodies.

The video plays out on this man being gay himself, having parental problems, and as being a complete and total basket case. Admittedly, yes, being a cannibal turns one's stomach. But in all reality, many native tribes have survived on eating other humans. How they did it, or why, is not known. They may have murdered the people, or ate them as soon as they died; no one is certain. I am not condoning this in any way shape or form. The cannibalism is not the problem with Dahmer, murdering people is. You may say, or think they go hand in hand, and that is your choice. But the true crime here is murder.

For years Dahmer survived on human flesh, and hid body parts in his freezer, and anywhere else he could find. When he was in Ohio, Dahmer hid the pieces and parts of the bones buried in the yard. This too, was public knowledge, because he later admitted to it.

In Nineteen eighty six, Dahmer was arrested for Lewd and Lascivious behaviors for urinating in front of children. He spent ten months in jail. In Nineteen ninety one, Milwaukee police saw a dazed man stumbling toward them, he had handcuffs on one wrist. The man informed them that Dahmer had tried to kill him. So they investigated it, to find Polaroid's of body parts, and mutilated corpses. In his freezer were lungs and various other body parts, which Dahmer said to the officers, that he was saving to eat later. At that time, there was also a head in the refrigerator and various other body parts all over, in total the Police claim to have found eleven bodies around this vicinity. Dahmer himself confessed to killing seventeen. He stood trial and was convicted on seventeen counts of murder, necrophilia and cannibalism. On November twenty eighth, Nineteen ninety four, Dahmer was attacked and killed in Prison.

You want to know something that I was surprised and learned in this video. I was surprised how the video perpetrates him, blaming his parents, his Grandmother, and the whole nine yards. Dahmer chose to drink heavily, no one forced him. He craved the taste for human flesh, no one trained him, to force him to eat and or like it. The video makes him out to be gay, but Dahmer never admitted to being gay, he did however claim as he was being questioned that he knew they were a danger to society, that God had told him to use them for his cravings.

Yes, I admit I think he needed counseling, and proper teaching. Maybe his parents were in fact distant with him, maybe the fact that they divorced, made him feel guilty, or the cause- that is in fact common among children of divorcees. Before we could further investigate Dahmer, learn from him, do more research, and what not; another prisoner choose to end Dahmer's life.
 http://media-cache-cd0.pinimg.com/736x/23/2d/48/232d48a73b1f5dd6b2c72e96caeadce7.jpg
Rumor has it, that many inmates wanted Dahmer gone and out of there, because they didn't want to be his next meal ticket, and they didn't want an alleged "fag" around them. I feel Dahmer was misunderstood, all through his life, and yes the video does represent that this was fact. I happen to agree with that factor, just not how the video portrays and points you to think and lay blame.
You also want to know how this video relates to our class and real life. I can tell you, no one likes cannibalism, and or they don't understand it. It is thought of being gross, and yes- I agree. Dahmer woke a lot of people up, when he was discovered and found out to be a true criminal. He had been a lot of places, and there were traces of him and what he had done through out.

One thing that always makes me think, when it comes to criminals, is their stupidity. How could he or anyone else think, that they wouldn't eventually get caught? He left evidence in plain sight, he was not organized, he was not careful. He didn't think before he acted, and sometimes I wonder if he, and any other criminal for that matter-want caught.

Because they cannot stop on their own recognizance. Dahmer was extremely careless, and that was because he point blank- did not care.

Inside of every criminal there is or was at one time, a real person. The key is to find out what went wrong, and try to fix it. Yes, I am certain that there are times and places, where fixing may not be possible. As with Manson, he admitted- let him out, and he will do it all over again. At least he was honest. That's more then you can say for most criminals.

Here is the list of the murders caused by Dahmer. And in my honest opinion, I think this list is incomplete. I have always thought that there were others. How could the man possibly remember every person? Especially if he was insane? Anyway, here is the list of his victims:

Victims:

  • Jun 1978 - Stephen Hicks
  • Sep 1987 - Steven Toumi

Q&A to Consider BEFORE You Write to Prisoners!

Q&A's to Consider BEFORE You Write to Prisoners

For Anyone Who Might Be Interested!

Because I once was an avid pen paler, I have had several people ask me about writing to prisoners. I wish to respond to those questions here, to benefit others, who might have the same questions in the near future. ~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
Q. Have you yourself ever written to prisoners?
A. Yes, several in fact.
Q. Did you have any kinds of problems with the prisoners, like them wanting nude photos or you to talk sexual to them, or anything along that nature?
A. I laid down ground rules from the get go. I explained I was married, and had children. I also explained that I felt I was writing them, to help them pass the time, which I "sort of" felt bad for them. Being away from their families and what not. Not that I approve of them doing crimes, try to understand what I am saying here. But yes, I did have one who insisted on still trying to pursue me sexually, I stopped writing, he continued, and I went to his warden. After that, he wrote again threatening me, I copied the letter and sent it to the warden, and never heard from him again.
Q. What made you want to write to prisoners?
A. I am and always have been interested in law; I in fact majored in it in School. I wanted to know what made these criminals do the things that they did. I never wrote to murderers, or child molesters. I wrote to several convenient store robbers, a stalker who later turned into a peeper, a wife beater, and several other domestic violence cases.
Q. What do you suggest to anyone interested in writing to prisoners?
A. I suggest that you use a P.O. Box. Not your own home residence address. I suggest you don't tell too many personal things, like describe your home, and the whereabouts that you live. Especially if you are writing to a nearby prison. I also suggest that you lay down ground rules, and keep yourself distant. If you are single, do not be gullible, and fall in love with the person. Yes, they will promise you everything. And yes, they can sometimes marry you while they are incarcerated. But you truly need to keep your head on straight. They will use you for commissary and whatever else they can talk you into sending them, that they are allowed to have. Please, please, use common sense.
Q. Why do people NOT want to write to prisoners?
A. A lot of people fear the unknown. And TV makes it out to be a lot worse than it is. AND many prisoners do have a one track mind. They only want to get even, or do more injustices to another. That's why I say, if you decide to write one, use caution. There are some who are wrongly framed; time and time again we have found that people are set free because we, that's right I said WE as the judge and jury, have put the wrong person away. Sometimes, we can't be certain. The evidence in the crime, isn't always there.
Q. Have you lost any pen pals because you decided to write prisoners?
A. Yes, people thought I was a disgrace, an embarrassment. And to be honest, one of the people I decided to write, I wrote because I honestly felt he/she wasn't guilty. Turned out-they weren't. This makes me right, and the people judging ME and the prisoners wrong! My gut instinct led me to that prisoner, seen them on TV, and wanted to write them, looked them up, and them found them!
Q. Do you still write prisoners today?
A. No, I still have a P.O.Box though! I rarely pen pal though, too. Time is limited. However, if I ever deem it necessary to write one again, I will. I have no problem in doing so.
These are the questions many of pen pals, and friends and family have often ask me, and I thought it would make for an interesting article, and benefit others. Because after all, sometimes even prisoners do need friends. And like I said, they aren't always guilty. We might like to think they all are, but trust me, they aren't.
